STATEMENT

I see the world through heart-shaped lens, where everything I encounter is softened, distorted, and reformed. For me, the heart is not simply a symbol added to an image, but a way of seeing that allows subjects to take on new meanings while retaining traces of their original form. Finding hearts in the world has become a way of introducing softness and lightness into the mundane, even within heavier realities. This practice serves as both a personal challenge and a reminder that I extend to viewers as well.

I have always been drawn to color, which is why my process involves playful layers of color through acrylic, creating pastel, dreamlike palettes. I approach clay and plaster in a similar way, allowing touch and movement to shape the work rather than relying on precision. The materials respond to these gestures through unexpected textures and forms.

These works come together in what I call the Heart Archive: an ongoing collection of moments, memories, and observations translated through my particular way of seeing. Each work becomes both a record of the world I encounter and of how that world changes as it passes through heart-shaped lens.
